Monroe Endodontics is the private practice of Dr. J. Carson Rutz. He brings many years of experience in the art and science of endodontics to Northeast Louisiana. He believes in combining the use of leading edge technology with old fashioned caring to create your individualized patient experience.

His professional training began in Jackson, MS at the University of Mississippi School of Dentistry from 2000-2004. He received several awards there including the American Association of Endodontists award, the Alumni and Friends Student Clinician award, and the International Association for Dental Research award for research achievement. He has served on the Alumni Board and returned to his alma mater as a part-time clinical professor.

Dr. Rutz then spent three years in St. Louis, MO completing his post-graduate training. He first worked as a general practice resident at St. John’s Mercy Medical Center, learning in a hospital setting. Treating patients in the operating room, emergency room, and traditional dental practice provided a unique experience of collaboration with many medical and dental specialties. This team approach is what treatment at Monroe Endodontics is based on, as Dr. Rutz and staff work very closely with referring dentists.

The endondontic residency at St. Louis University is a dual degree program. Dr. Rutz received his clinical certificate in the specialty of endodontics and M.S. in dental research in 2007. He was published in the Journal of Endodontics for his research. He is a member of the American Dental Association, the American Association of Endodontists, the Louisiana Dental Association, the Mississippi Dental Association, the Northeast Louisiana Dental Association, and the Tiger Athletic Foundation.

Dr. Rutz is also a graduate of Louisiana State University, class of 1998. He met his wife, Kelly, in Baton Rouge and they have two children, Harrison and Bennett.
